"What can go wrong at a restaurant named Saladworks?" inquired our fearless food detective, Sherlock Zone. Actually quite a lot, was the reply. And so off Sherlock went to give Zoners some clues on what to eat.

First off, the restaurant offers a plethora of sandwiches, and most of the soups will whisk diners out of the Zone.

But there is a lot of good news, too. First, diners are able to create their own salads.

  • Protein choices include: chicken, turkey, tofu and Alaskan salmon
  • For carbs one may choose: artichokes, peppers, broccoli, chick peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, mandarin oranges, asparagus and apples.

Of all the soups, only two are in the Zone:

Vegetarian chili, chopped tomatoes accompanied by dark red/garbanzo/white beans, garden veggies, olive oil, Dijon mustard, fresh garlic and white wine; and Vegetarian Vegetable, vegetable-stock soup loaded with a cornucopia of garden-fresh vegetables with herbs, spices, and natural flavors.

There are also many favorable ready-made salads, such as:

Mandarin Chicken

Baby spring mix, chicken, mandarin oranges, sliced cucumbers, carrots, craisins, and chow mein noodles. Skip the noodles and craisins.

Nuevo Nicoise
Romaine, iceberg, radiatorre pasta, chunk tuna, tomatoes, egg whites, nicoise olives, green beans. Ask them to basta the pasta.

Spring Fit
Spring mix/romaine/iceberg, salmon, fresh asparagus, chickpeas, marinated tomatoes, mozzarella, croutons. This was Sherlock’s favorite, minus the croutons.

There are also the traditional cobb and chicken Caesar.

Choose from three different vinaigrettes for dressing.

So, Sherlock concludes, stay away from the sandwiches and soups, such as butternut squash and lasagna, and Saladworks will work for Zoners.
